Family Portrait - Sept 13

So my 2 yr old is starting school tomorrow and they asked for a picture of the family for them to have in the classroom.  Now I have thousands of pictures of my family, literally! But most of them have me behind the lens, of course! So, we decided, last minute (of course) that we needed to do something about it!

So yesterday evening, we pack up the girls and drive to the nearby beach and I set up my tripod.  I of course, don't have a remote to press the shutter, so we bring along my mother in law to do us the favor of just pressing the button, which I set up to be in "high continuous shooting mode."

As you can imagine, it doesn't all go that smoothly! Now why would it? With a 2 year old and a 6 month old, what could go wrong?!? Well, they say pictures are worth a thousand words, so here you go!

Did I mention the camera was set to continuous shooting mode? In the span of 20 minutes, we got over 200 pictures (of which a handful are usable), two parents on the verge of an anxiety attack, a hungry baby and restless toddler.  All in all, it was not all in vain.  I only needed one decent shot, and that's what we got.

And the winner is:

Latisha & Mark Wedding - Sept 9

Latisha and Mark said their "I do's" at the beautiful Woodbury Country Club in Long Island on a lovely Friday evening. How adorable are these flower girls???  I was gushing the moment I saw them! Simply too cute for words!

Latisha was just absolutely stunning and her smile was just contagious. Such a privilege to be allowed to share in her and Mark's special day.

The ceremony was so special.  They had me laughing and crying all at the same time.

Every detail was perfection as everyone geared up for a fabulous reception.

Lights, music and entertainment were provided by Premier Music Entertainment.  DJ Bentley and Legend had everyone laughing and dancing non stop.  Even I was itching to join the party behind my camera lens!

Latisha and Mark, it was such a tremendous pleasure to be there on your special day. You two make such a beautiful couple. I wish you all the happiness in the world now and forever.

Hali & Adam's Wedding - Sep 4

I was so fortunate to meet the fabulous Erica Lyn this past Labor Day weekend as I second shot Hali & Adam's wedding with her.

Not only was it a beautiful wedding but I consider myself so lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from such a talented photographer.

The wedding took place at the very hip Stage 6 Steiner Studios located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

This venue is fantastic. Just driving in, you feel like you are in a movie set.

Never mind once you are on the rooftop where the ceremony took place.

Before the ceremony we were able to sneak away for a bit to the Brooklyn Bridge for some romantic shots.  Hali and Adam looked so perfect and happy together.

Hali's eyes just sparkled as we walked towards the water.

I was in awe of Hali's beautiful dress and bouquet. They complemented her so well.

A candid moment of Hali looking at Adam as the ceremony was about to start.

A talented woman, Adam's mother, Jan hand crafted these wonderful yarmulkes for the blessed event.

The love was palpable in the air.
Adam walked in with his parents and their embrace was truly moving.

Hali, escorted by her beautiful mother, was absolutely radiant.

Surrounded by their loved ones, Hali and Adam were wed under this beautiful chuppah.

The rabbis blessed the couple just as the sun went down.  Then the city lights lit up the evening sky as Hali and Adam were wrapped with the tallit (prayer shawl).

Didn't I mention that this felt like being in a movie! It was magical!

The perfect conclusion to such a wonderful and special day was this view of Manhattan and the Williamsburg Bridge at night from the Studio 6 rooftop.

Headshot Swap - Long Island - Sept 2

Last night I jumped at the opportunity to meet a few fellow photographers from Long Island to do a headshot swap. Yes, I am crazy enough to drive out to Long Island during rush hour on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. But these four ladies made it all worth it and we had a lot of fun.

Meet Randy.  Not only is she gorgeous, but she also does some amazing boudoir photography

This is Amanda. Fun and outgoing, as well as a fantastic children's photographer.

Next is Cat, the one responsible for putting this shoot together. Funny, sweet and a super fast blogger, as well as a talented photographer.

And of course, last but certainly not least is Gina Marie.  Super sweet, great smile and a fabulous maternity and children's photographer.
