Liz and Anthony Wedding at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn

Liz and Anthony are a blast from the moment you meet them, there is no doubt about that.  I am so honored to have been there to share and document their special day.

Liz got ready at her parents' Staten Island home.  The house was full of excitement when I arrived with everyone putting on their finishing touches and running around making sure no one forgot anything. When it came time for Liz to put on her gown, mom and sister were there to help.  Liz' attention to detail was evident in every detail throughout the house, from the dresses she had selected, to the custom hanger for her dress and the delicate and beautiful handkerchief that had been passed down from generation to generation.  She also had gorgeous flowers, provided by Avenue J Florist in Brooklyn, that were simply phenomenal.

The wedding took place at the Three Hierarchs Greek Church in Brooklyn.  Both Liz and Anthony were baptized in this church and Anthony had grown up going here.  It was such a beautiful thing to see them come full circle in a way.  This church is so breathtaking, I could feel a loving energy the moment I walked in.

No bridesmaids at this wedding.  Liz opted for having bridesmen and a king's wedding!  Liz's sister was her maid of honor and her nieces were junior bridesmaids.  However, the rest of the bridal party consisted of these dashing and handsome gentlemen who were nothing short of spectacular!

After the ceremony, we all headed to Stage 6 at Steiner Studios located at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.  Cocktail hour was on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Manhattan skyline as the sun was setting!  Add on the fact that the food was unbelievably delicious and I was in heaven!  Things only got better and better as the party started and the music was kick ass!!  Liz and Anthony chose to have a DJ and a Greek band alternate so there was never a dull moment.  All in all it was just a fantastic day!

Liz and Anthony, it makes me so happy to have witnessed, in a small way, your love story from before you were even engaged!  God bless you and your families now and always!  Love you!!

Sheila + Tim | Hoboken Engagement

I just love the way he makes her smile...  It's obvious these two are meant to be.  I can't wait for their gorgeous June 2014 wedding.

The backdrop of the Manhattan skyline was perfect on this early September evening as we ventured thru Hoboken for their very special engagement session.

Every aspect of their engagement session had to do with their history, such as living and loving Hoboken and getting engaged at the Hoboken W Hotel.

She's a little shy and he's the more outgoing one, but they compliment each other so well... and like I said before, I just love the way he made her smile at every turn...

Just a beautiful couple all around...  as you may be able to tell, their favorite color is blue.

And another one of their passions...
of course the amazing restaurants of Hoboken...
and the New York Giants!!

June is going to be an amazing month!

xoxo,
Jess

Introducing boudoir in my life

I have to say that, so far, this year has been an amazing period of growth for both my photography and my confidence as an artist.  Until somewhat recently, I had focussed mainly on wedding photography and thanks to my amazing and talented photographer friend and mentor Natalie Licini, I have discovered a love for boudoir photography that was somewhat unexpected.  And so, I have been very busy collaborating with Natalie at her fabulous studio Je Revele Fine Art Photography in NJ.  I absolutely love "working" there, lol!

There is something so powerful about boudoir photography that I identify with.  I believe it's the fact that I can see the transformation in a woman's heart as she allows herself to be sexy and beautiful for herself and no one else.  Of course, many ladies choose to share the resulting images with their significant others, but the actual moment of being photographed and feeling amazing in front of the camera is something quite unique and extraordinary.  I enjoy the fact that clients quickly feel at ease with me as they get to know me in such a way that their true personalities can shine thru despite the fact that they may feel self conscious at first.

Here are some images of a session I did last month with Jamie in Staten Island, NY - a beautiful woman inside and out.  I totally loved her energy!  Special thanks to Michelle Ernest for the fabulous job on the make up, spectacular as always!

Jenny + Jonathan Wedding - Old Lyme, CT

A few weeks ago I had the enormous privilege of photographing my best friends wedding!

Just like she had always dreamed, it was a small intimate weekend affair at a bed and breakfast by the water.  Jonathan and Jennifer chose to get married at the lovely Bee and Thistle Inn in Old Lyme, Connecticut.  The setting was breathtaking, the inn was charming and the food was delicious!  More extraordinary than anything however, was the love in the air between these two and the joy of their families as they came together to celebrate this wonderful event.

Jenny, you are radiant!!

I never saw a more beautiful "aisle" for a bride to walk down...

A big thanks to Justice of the Peace, Carol Schweitzer-Schilling, who conducted the ceremony in such a beautiful and loving way.

I of course had to sneak in one of us together as well!

Ahhh, the first dance!!  I die!!

Jenn and Jonathan, thanks so much for letting Derek and I be a part of your amazing and magical wedding weekend!  I loved every minute of it and I love you both very much!!
XOXOXO,
Jess
