Liberty State Park, NJ: Michele + Carlos Engagment Session

Michele and Carlos are getting married!!

A few weeks ago we met at State Liberty Park for their engagement session.
They brought their two dogs, aka, their babies for the shoot and we had a great time.

They kept telling me that they didn't feel comfortable in front of the camera, but after a few clicks, they looked like they do this for a living!
Walking along the Hudson River with their two adorable dogs, we  got some great shots of them all with the New York Harbor and Manhattan skyline in the background.

I told you they were naturals!!

Lulu was simply adorable!

I had no idea, but apparently State Liberty Park is less than 2000 feet away from Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty...

We just wished the statue could have turned around for our little photo shoot. :)

Located in this beautiful New Jersey park, is also the abandoned Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJ).
Perfect to escape the blazing sun and to get some pretty cool images.

I have to say, this has to be one of my favorite images of the year!

Michele and Carlos, it's spectacular to see how much you make each other laugh!

What a gorgeous looking couple!!

As we walked abou the park, Michele and Carlos told me they are planning a honeymoon in Europe.
I'm so jealous and happy for them.  I know they are going to have an amazing time!

Planning a wedding can often be quite stressful, so I love it when an engagement session gives my couples the chance to just be together and enjoy each other's company.

Michele your laughter is divine and Carlos you are just fantastic.  I can't wait for you wedding!

xoxo,
Jess

Edgewater, NJ - Melissa + Chris Engagement Party

I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa about eight years ago when we both worked in the New York City apparel industry.

Last month, I was so happy to reconnect with her and to be able to document her engagement party at Le Jardin Restaurant in Edgewater, New Jersey.  It was wonderful to see her happier than ever next to her fiance Chris and surrounded by her loving friends and family.

So many beautiful details and moments at this engament party!  I specially loved the wedding portraits that were displayed and of course their adorable little niece who was just too cute for words!

Cocktails on the terrace with the spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline and the George Washington Bridge from this Edgewater venue made everything feel just a tad more magical.

Melissa, always such a sweetheart! I'm so happy for you and Chris and wish you both the very best always!

Keep smiling always!

xoxo,
Jess

NYC Wedding: Alessia + Mara

Meet Alessia and Mara!  They traveled over 4,000 miles to come from the Ravenna province of Italy to Times Square, New York City to fulfill their dream to wed.  And what a beautiful, loving and playful couple they are!

Unfortunately, their friends and family were not able to travel along with them, so Alessia and Mara not only chose the most public and colorful place they could think of, Times Square, but they also created flyers and favors to give away to people they met here in New York in honor of their wedding.  And as we walked thru the streets of Manhattan, New Yorkers, and tourists alike, did not disappoint as they congratulated the happy couple, asked for pictures and were just happy for this beautiful couple.

Quite detail oriented, Alessia and Mara, also brought along a representation of their adorable dog to be the ring bearer.  In addition, Mara wore a fabulous necklace made by Alessia from an old vinyl disc.  It was little details like these all throughout the day, that just continued to enhance the day more and more.

It was such an honor to spend time with them and to witness such a magical experience.  Even though not everything went according to plan, they didn't let anything stand in the way of their perfect day. I mean, looking at their images and their joy, I completely forgot that it was almost 110 degrees that day!!!  It was also such a pleasure to meet Rev. Samora Smith from Common Ground Ceremonies who performed a very moving ceremony in Italian for the two of them!

And then we headed for Coney Island just in time to see the sunset.

I told you they were playful! :)

And of course, you don't travel 4,000 miles for your wedding and then not drive around in style, so Alessia and Mara rented a Dodge Challenger RT Hemi for the special occasion.  From Coney Island, we headed back to Manhattan with a stop in Dumbo for dinner and a romantic stroll under the Brooklyn Bridge.  It was definitely a day to remember!
